👋 hi folks….I’m new to Metaflow, but it looks really awesome. Is there a way I can not have it upload my dependencies and use a docker image with all my dependencies instead? I know I can specify a docker image for @batch but I’m unclear if I can do that for Step functions too. Thanks!

yep, you can deploy to Step Functions like this:
python myflow.py --with batch:image=myimage step-functions create
and it'll use a custom image
myimage
for all steps

@straight-shampoo-11124 will it still package up my local code though?
v
yep!

@straight-shampoo-11124 ah, I was hoping it won’t package up my local code. Is there any way to turn that part off?
v
not really, since Metaflow needs to know what code to execute. However if you want to include your own business logic in the docker image, you could structure your flow as a skeleton DAG that just imports other packages/modules that are available in the image. Then you can treat the Metaflow flow that is packaged by Metaflow merely as config, while all your code is in the image
